At the Shaanxi Province Tourism Development Conference, Shaanxi Provincial Tourism Administration signed tourism cooperation agreements with six domestic and foreign tourism related organizations.
Cooperation with the Nevada Commission on Tourism will focus on products such as sightseeing, education, business, and MICE to facilitate mutual visits and exchange. Offices will also be set up to promote investment in tourism and other related industries.

Shaanxi Provincial Tourism Administration has also signed an Agreement to Promote Tourism Development with Hong Kong Tourism Board and China Travel Service (Hong Kong) Limited. China Travel Service (Hong Kong) Limited will invite outbound travel salesman to Shaanxi to inspect tourist routes while the administration will give a subsidy of 30% at one destination.
Under the strategic agreement signed with Phoenix Satellite Television Holdings Limited, Phoenix TV will promote Shaanxi’s tourism activities, resources and achievements through its comprehensive range of media platforms covering TV, radio, publishing, Internet, and new media.
The Administration has inked a Tourism Development Strategic Agreement with Korean Air and China Eastern Airlines, under which the parties will jointly design air travel products. Besides, the administration and China Eastern will enhance cooperation in the development of inbound tourism by organizing promotional team to Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.

The 381-room Holiday Inn Xi’an Greenland Century City is due to open this August in the heart of the new CBD in the Xi’an High-Tech Industries Development Zone.
The hotel features a variety of leisure options including four food and beverage venues and a spa. Oasis, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant offers international favorites, while Li Bao Xuan, a contemporary Chinese Restaurant, serves authentic Cantonese, Shaanxi and Sichuan specialties.

In close proximity to the Greenland Pico International Convention Centre, Holiday Inn Xi’an Greenland Century City will offer a variety of fully-featured meetings and function spaces. The pillar-less Grand Ballroom offers 680 square meters of flexible meeting space, which is divisible into two, has 5.8-meter high ceilings, and can accommodate conferences and special events of up to 600 guests; while five smaller function rooms can be used for meetings from 12 to 100 guests.

British Ambassador Sir William Ehrman lead a delegation of 15 UK companies to visit Xi’an from 26th to 27th May, 2009 at the invitation of the Mayor of Xi’an.
He introduced UK companies to Mr. Chen Baogen, the mayor of Xi’an, Mr. Jing Junhai, Vice Governor of Shaanxi and a selection of local companies. The Ambassador visited UK aerospace company HPL, witnessed a signing ceremony for Oxford University, Oxford Archaeology and Team Tourism Consulting at the Daming Palace Heritage Conservation Project. He also participated in a teleconference organised by Plan International between schools in Xi’an and the UK discussing global warming.

Terracotta warriors in Emperor Qin Shihuang’s mausoleum in Shaanxi province attracted more than one million foreign visitors last year.
In 2008, 176,000 Americans visited the world famous historical site, accounting for 14% of the total foreign visitors.

Since China and the U.S. established diplomatic ties 30 years ago, former U.S. presidents Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton have been for visits. former U.S. presidents Richard Nixon has also visited the museum.
