Regal iClub Hotel, Regal Hotels International’s latest property, and its sixth hotel in Hong Kong, has had its soft opening.
The boutique hotel is located in the city’s Wan Chai business and entertainment district and is close to many of the island’s convention and exhibition venues as well as leisure, cultural, and sports facilities. The nearest MTR station is a three-minute walk away, and the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre can be reached on foot in 10 minutes. Popular tourist attractions such as Times Square, Stanley Market, Happy Valley Race Course, and Ocean Park are also close to the hotel.
The 50 guestrooms and suites, are equipped with complimentary broadband and wireless Internet access, LCD TVs and iPod speakers. For food and beverage the hotel’s lobby cafe, iCafe, serves light buffets and an a-la-carte menu of pan-Asian dishes throughout the day.
Speaking at the hotel’s soft opening, Yoland Perras, the general manager, commented that Regal iClub Hotel is a new product line of Regal Group, and is designed to target younger business travelers by offering a modern and trendy image with uniquely striking decor, high tech convenience, and impeccable service.

News from Tianjin Municipal Tourism Administration is that Tianjin will invest CNY10.2 billion this year to rebuild and renovate 20 star-rated hotels of the city.
It is reported that the city is taking the initiative to raise the service quality of its star-rated hotels in anticipation of major events such as the Summer Davos Meeting and The Second China Tourism Festival.
Currently there are 122 star-rated hotels in Tianjin, of which 10 are five-star hotels. The 20 hotels that are scheduled for renovation include Renaissance Tianjin Hotel, The Westin Tianjin, Raffles Tianjin, Sheraton Tianjin Hotel, and Holiday Inn Binhai Tianjin.

The 554-room five-star Harbour Plaza Hong Kong will be rebranded as Harbour Grand Kowloon on January 28, 2010.
This rebranding follows the earlier announcement of the opening of
Harbour Grand Hong Kong earlier this year. So there will now be two
Harbour Grand hotels in the city — with one on Kowloon side and the
other on Hong Kong Island.
The hotel is situated on the harbor-front promenade in Kowloon,
facing Victoria Harbour, close to the shopping and entertainment
district in Tsimshatsui, and near to ferries travelling to the Island
districts of Central, Wanchai, and North Point.
The 554 guestrooms and serviced suites include two presidential
suites and the hotel is equipped with a wireless broadband Internet
service.

Solar Valley Micro-E Hotel, which is positioned as the world’s first environmentally-friendly theme park-style hotel, opened during Christmas in Dezhou, Shandong province.
Solar Valley Micro-E Hotel is built to international five-star standards and green five-star standards, and is a comprehensive business hotel for lodging, dining, meetings, and fitness.
The hotel has adopted many solar technologies to qualify as a green hotel. Solar thermal collectors can meet the needs for hot water, and heating and cooling systems of the hotel; building has integrated photovoltaics to generate power and conserve energy and solar cells on the roof of the lobby light the hotel at night.
The hotel has indoor and outdoor solar swimming pools and fitness rooms, and has meeting facilities and simultaneous interpretation systems that can provide services to various international and domestic meetings.

The first Regar hotel by Tianlun International Hotels, the four-star Tianlun Regar Hotel Shenyang, has had its grand opening.
The 243-room Tianlun Regar Hotel Shenyang is located in Zhong Jie Street in the capital of Liaoning.The name Regar is said to indicate good fortune, harmony, and unique style. In contrast to Tianlun’s Radegast brand, the Regar is targeted at a younger, upwardly mobile clientele.

For meetings and events, the two-storied executive floor, offers individual conference rooms and lounges, while the ballroom is fully prepared with advanced audio-visual facilities. The hotel restaurants offer Guangdong and Liao delicacies that feature Tianlun home cuisine.
