In a broad sense, Nanjing Road includes East-Nanjing Road and West-Nanjing Road, while in narrow sense, it only refers to the Nanjing Road before 1945 (today’s East-Nanjing Road), which is pedestrianized.

The Bund: The Bund(pinyin: Wàitān) is an area of Huangpu District in Shanghai. The area centres on a section of Zhongshan Road within the former Shanghai International Settlement, which runs along the western bank of the Huangpu River. The Bund usually refers to the buildings and wharves on this section of the road, as well as some adjacent areas. The Bund is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Shanghai. Building heights are restricted in this area.
Jade Buddha Temple: The Jade Buddha Temple (pinyin: Yùfó Chán Sì) is a Buddhist temple in Shanghai, China. As with most modern Chinese Buddhist temples, the current temple draws from both the Pure Land and Chan traditions of Mahayana Buddhism. It was founded in 1882 with two jade Buddha statues imported to Shanghai from Burma by sea.
Shanghai Museum: Construction of the current building Shanghai Museum started in August 1993. It is 29.5 meters high with five floors, covering a total area of 39,200 m². Designed by a local architect, the new museum building is designed in the shape of an ancient, bronze, tripod cooking vessel called a ding.
Yu Garden: Yu Garden (Pinyin: Yùyuán), located in the center of the Old City in Shanghai, is considered one of the four finest Chinese gardens. The garden was reportedly first established in 1559 as a private garden created by Pan Yunduan, who spent almost 20 years building a garden to please his father Pan En, a high-ranking official in the Ming Dynasty. During the Taiping Rebellion the gardens were occupied by imperial troops, and damaged by the Japanese in 1942. They were repaired by the Shanghai government from 1956-1961, and declared a national monument in 1982.
